About Me
Hi there I’m Tara. Ever since I was a child, I have always been drawn to laying on of hands. To comfort or to soothe or to assist a healing journey. I believe the power of touch is something we all have and something we all need. In these complicated times, I really believe this is deeply needed more now than ever. I feel called to offer support to my fellow humans in this way.
I am committed to evolving my technique and adding to my range of healing modality skills. I am building a wide range of qualifications in different body works to be able to offer an intuitive healing session individually crafted for each client. I found Lomi Lomi (Traditional Hawaiian massage) and the system and technique and energy flow has resonated deeply with me and my Polynesian roots. So even though I have yet to add many other modalities to my offering, I intend to offer this treatment to my community now. Watch this space for additional offerings in the future!
Over the next few years, I plan to build up my practice to offer a wide range of other healing modalities and to be able to tailor a unique combination of techniques specific to what each individual needs. I intend to learn authentic traditional modalities and bring together what feels authentic to me, creating an intuitive service that will address the person as a whole. I bring this intention into every session of Lomi Lomi Massage and though my offerings are limited to Lomi Lomi for now, my clients can always tell that there is more going on than ‘just a massage’; the energy exchange and intention of the work we create together is something unique and special.
Our starting point is not where we will finish, but we have to start to get there.
It is important to me that I am able to act in service to others and along with that comes my commitment to offer a safe space to every single one of my clients. When you are on my table or in my hands, you will be held with love and respect, you will be encouraged and believed, you will be empowered and encouraged on whatever healing journey we undertake together. I will always create a healing space for you to let your walls down and release in safety. That is my commitment to you. No matter your age, race, shape, background, gender identity, sexuality, religion/ belief system or politics, no matter what your insecurities are, or how we differ, you will be safe with me.
About Mana
Mana is a powerful word in Polynesian culture. In Hawaiian culture, Mana is known as sacred spiritual energy of power and strength. Mana flows through people as well as objects and places, though Mana can be felt higher within more sacred or powerful places and people. Mana is your life force and the power that exists for you to draw on through your life.
In my own Māori Culture, Mana describes the personal spiritual power or essence within oneself. It is a personal, complex and multifactorial concept that goes hand in hand with humility and which I can honestly say I will spend much longer learning about before I fully understand. You are born with inherited Mana and your Mana goes into a lot of what you do and what you are in your life. Your mana will grow or diminish in direct relation to your actions, and it is important to always act in ways that will enhance your mana. This is tightly linked to your success but more so to how well your actions help/ serve or provide for your family and community (whānau).
